((SPRING)) Mood Board
I know, I know I missed winter's #LooksMoodBoard because life was so hectic and I abruptly moved from Jersey back home to Virginia and helllloooo Spring has been here for quite a while now. I couldn't just let this mood board pass though, I love Spring argumentatively more than all the other seasons. With Spring comes the sense of newness and being reborn (between the reminder of having new life in Jesus Christ each year when Easter rolls around, the trees finally starting to bloom, and the best and worst part of Spring... Spring Cleaning.), it also happens to be the season of a very special birthday in my life... LookBrooke's. It also happens to be my personal birthday as well, so shout out to turning twenty three (eeep, my lucky number)... Taylor Swift was always right, and I am currently feeling oh so twenty-two.
So here's is the Spring Mood Board: full of fashion, beauty, recipes, etc...

My Spring Beauty Picks:
1. I typically just moisturize my face with Garnier's Ultra-Lift. I used to use primers all the time, and this may be like committing some kind of sin in the beauty world but I just don't anymore.
2. Most days I use the Garnier BB Cream, on days I want the feeling and look of more coverage I use ItCosmetic's CC Cream.
3. I typically steal this product daily from my sister (Sorry Caroline) especially if I want to make an impression. I thought I would hate this product in all honesty, but it's my favorite for contouring and adding a little highlight after the whole make up process. NYX Wonder Stick
4. Everyday use I don't but on concealer, when I do I use ItCosmetic's Bye Bye Undereye and if I have a pimple I cover over it with this Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette.
5. For eye shadow I alternate between the Naked 2 and Naked 3 to create different looks daily. I also use liquid eyeliner (which I typically also steal from my sister... oops)
6. I swear by ItCosmetic's Hello Lashes for mascara.
7. For lips, I use any pink lipstick with Buxom's White Russian.

Everybody deserves to feel pretty, sexy, and like they can take on the world no matter what is thrown at them. I know for me personally, I get an automatic boost of confidence when I'm wearing a favorite pair of underwear and a pretty bra, it makes you feel at your prettiest even if it means you're wearing a t-shirt and sweat pants over top of them.
One of my favorite things about the company Adore Me, is their belief that every woman deserves to feel sexy every single day. While I love clothing and beauty, don't get me wrong... those things don't define who we are or provide the standard of what makes us beautiful. I think it's our personality, the way we treat others, and our open hearts that provide the basis for who we are... but when we feel like our clothes match the way we feel about ourselves (or how we want to feel) I think something beautiful happens.
Yall, I'm not kidding sexy underwear changes everything:
-You just flung a spider and it landed right next to your crush and he looks at you like you're a caveman... Who cares, you have cute underwear (!!!)
-You sent a snapchat with the caption "drowning my sorrows in mcflurries" to the very reason your sad... Who cares, you have cute underwear (!!!)
-You wake up and remember last night you demanded a boy to hurry up and kiss you already... Who cares, you have cute underwear (!!!)
-You just jokingly told this guy that you're only into gay men without realizing you basically just said I'm not into you or I secretly think you too are gay. Yeah, you really inserted your foot into your mouth with that one Brooke... Who cares, you have cute underwear (!!!)
-You actually start crying in a bathtub because you developed feelings for a boy... Who cares, you have cute underwear (!!!)
-You got up in the middle of the night and smashed your head on a nightstand and now are bleeding profusely from your head... Who cares, you have cute underwear (!!!)

Frosted Mocha Recipe
If you know anything about me then you would know I love coffee.. I especially adore my coffee in the chocolate variety. My go-to Starbucks order is typically a mocha, which I am a little ashamed about slightly. When an obsession of both coffee and chocolate milk come together, you know something beautiful is happening... I present to you my very own recipe for A Frosted Mocha.
As well as praising Jesus with every cup of coffee that comes my way, you can usually find me spending my days feeding my sisters addiction... Chick-fil-A. For Valentine's Day her boyfriend was sure to include a giftcard to the restaurant because that's how much she adores it. So when I heard about their new Frosted Coffee, it was the best of both worlds.
Now you can make your own version right at home.
Items You Need: (This made two milkshakes)
-Ice Cream: I used chocolate chip cookie dough, but honestly you could use any. (I do about two in a half scoops.)
-Chocolate Milk: If you haven't had fairlife before then I'm about to change your life. It's a huge hit in my family and I know Amber from Barefoot Blonde snaps about her love for it too. I don't really measure it out to be honest, but I know I'm generous with the pouring.
-Coffee or Espresso: I'm at home so coffee it is, I used over half a cup.
-Whipped Cream and Chocolate Syrup for decoration.
Blend it all together, since there is no ice to really crush and blend... it takes about 30 seconds for it to be ready. Again it won't be thick, more the consistency of an iced coffee.
Voila!

Spring Dress Round-up 2016

It still seems surreal that it's actually spring, this season is one of my absolute favorites! With it comes my birthday, LookBrooke's birthday, the start of eating icecream outside, and a personal favorite... dresses. Okay that's kind of every season, but you finally get to ditch the tights, bring back your favorite razor, and paint those toe nails again.
I've been on the search for some dresses lately like a few for my birthday weekend, the perfect white dress, and a dress for an occasion coming up. Basically, you will find me living at the mall and by the computer screen searching every site imaginable.
With my crazy quest, I've came across a ton of perfect dresses so here is a round-up to make your lives a little easier. Don't worry, I've even categorized them by price (50-under, 150-under, and sell your soul for the perfect dress... because we all have a little Ariel in us)

Some Thoughts I've Had Lately
Girls Weekend. This past weekend I headed down to Chapel Hill, NC and spent a few days with a college bestie. We both attended Liberty University our freshman years and have stayed connected since. We're even planning a celebration in my hometown for my bday weekend and I can't be more excited (!!) This weekend she got to show me a little bit of her life though, filled with all the best food you could possibly eat and a tour of UNC Chapel Hill.
** round up of all the food places (and items) you need to try:
1. Spicy9 (located in Chapel Hill): ((They have a special where you can buy one roll and get another free))
I got the Sexy Girl Roll: ((Shrimp tempura, cucumber, and avocado topped with masago and eel sauce))
and the Volcano Roll: ((Baked California Roll topped with spicy scallops))
-The atmosphere is very sleek and modern. They have a bar (and when we went they had $2.50 for draft beers, I had water but I noticed the sign.) You also have the option of sitting at the bar and see them making the food, which I have done at another sushi place before.
-I went during UNC's spring break.. so it wasn't crowded at all, but my friend mentioned repeatedly how odd it was to see it so empty, so obviously take that into consideration.
-They also have tvs surrounding the restaurant, which is a nice detail.
**If you know me I can't use chopsticks to save my life, like I was born to stay far away from them as possible. While trying to use them, I dropped the sushi in the soy sauce and splashed it everywhere. Me and my oddly shaped hands will go crawl under a rock now..**
2. Totopos (located in Cary, NC): I had the quesadilla ((flour tortilla, cheese, shredded chicken tinga, pico de gallo, lettuce, rice and beans)) which was amazing.. I honestly have no complaints except they do put this concoction of sour cream, sugar, and milk (I believe that's it) that was great but a little too sweet for me.
-Okay, this is more the meal you get when you don't want to eat for like five days after hahah. SO. MUCH. FOOD.
- The atmosphere is fun and festive, plenty of mexican wrestler masks everywhere haha. Music blasting, it's a party in itself. ((And they just started opening on Mondays for lunch... so cure the Monday blues with a fiesta!))
3. I'm about to make you love Target even more guys, aside from swooning over every cute decor item or coffee cup available. The super targets, with all the great food, are providing another reason to fork over hundreds of dollars.
-Archer Farms Mini Crab Cakes: These dreamy little appetizers will have you stuffing your face with no cares in the world the second they get out of the oven. I'll have an order of 150 please.
-Archer Farms Spinach and Artichoke Purses: The only complaint is that they sometimes fall over, so the fact that they looked like roses (for say a bachelor finale viewing party) was a little ruined lol...
-Dang Toasted Caramel Coconut Chips- Me and my friend Lauren could be found stuffing our face with these while sipping wine- pure bliss. They have the perfect combination of crunchy and sweet (and would be perfect as an addition to any salad).
The Little Moments. I don't think I spend enough time truly being thankful for those little life moments that cause you to act like a crazy happy lunatic. You know those moments when you finally get a snap from the name you've been silently wishing would show up on your phone... and it does! The next thing you know you're legit pulling out old ballet moves and dancing around the room because you're that happy. That is pure gold. Maybe even your a little tipsy off wine and sobbing at the ending of Ben's season on The Bachelor (because hello I was so unbelievably #teamlauren from day one) and the moment I thought he wasn't going to pick her, I let out tears and swore I'd never believe in men ever again. (Because guys, he always treated her differently from the beginning and she made nervous noises at times and accidentally told him she wanted to meet his family on their first date- both I'd totally do or have done.) And he picked her, and all was right for the world... and I could breathe again, because fairy-tales come true and pixie dust is real.
Spring. GUYS (!!!) it's the first day of spring, and while it might be cold enough for a coat right now, I am way too excited. The time of day dreaming of dreamy white and blush plus there is this romper I currently have my sets on) And with a new season comes a new Look's Mood Board, and I just can't wait to get into the spring spirit with yall!
Big Little Lies. While I visited my friend in NC, we did a book exchange where I gave her one of my favorites, Girls in White Dresses and she gave me Big Little Lies.".. is a brillant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters schoolyard scandal, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive." The book is about murder, but I'm over here catching some major baby fever...
AVOCADO PLEASE. I want it and I want it all the time, avocado toast is on repeat in the Broomell house people, and it tastes even better each time.
